Ramadan is going to start very soon. We are ready to observe fast in Ramadan. As it is clearly mentioned in The Holy Quran by Allah that. “O’ you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may achieve Taqwaa (righteousness, God-fearing).” [Surat Al-Baqarah, verse 183]. So in this post I will tell you all the Rules and Regulations of Fasting in Ramadan.
Fasting in the month of Ramadan is the 4th pillar of Islam and it is obligatory for every sane, healthy muslim who reached his puberty. Fasting can be skipped if someone is travelling and for womens it should be skiped in menstruation. There is an hadith saying.
The prophet Muhammad said, “Whoever observes the fast during the month of Ramadan, (while) believing in Allah and seeking His rewards, will have his past sins forgiven.”
So it is very important that we follow all the Rules and Regulations of Fasting in Ramadan. So lets discuss what are the Rules and Regulations of Fasting in Ramadan.
Rules and Regulations of Fasting in Ramadan
Two main elements of Fasting
Every night before dawn (fajra) after having the Suhoor meal you should have an intention that you are going to fast today. It is actually by heart so you do not need to speak the intention loudly or slowly. Just make a feeling in your heart that you intended to fast today.
Refraining from Acts That Nullifies The Fast
Now if you want your fast to be accepted to Allah. You should refrain from the acts that nullifies the fast.
So you have to maintain the above mentioned two things if you want your fast to be accepted. Now lets understand in detail the Rules and Regulations of Fasting in Ramadan.
Actions That Nullifies The Fast
These are the actions that will nullify your fast so refrain from doing the following things while you are fasting.
Intentional Eating or Drinking
If you eaten forgetfully then it is considered that it was Allah you made you eat so you can continue to fast in this case. But if you have taken drink or ate something intentionally then your fast is invalid.
If you vomits intentionally your fast is invalid. But if you were not able to overcome the vomiting and vomited unintentionally you should continue your fast.
If you have done sexual intercourse while fasting your fast is nullified. And it is a sin so you must perform Kaffarah. Kaffarah means fasting 60 consecutive days or feeding 60 poors.
Menstrual Childbirth Bleeding
If you are going through this situation you should not fast. Even if this happened at the evening before breaking the fast your fast is invalid. So you should complete the fast in some other day.
